JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:Student Services Officer (Temp to perm)

Location: Barkingside

Salary: £13 per hour / £24,000 per annum

Start date: Temp from w/c 20th May - End of July. Permanent from 1st August.

Reporting to: Student Services Manager (Line Manager)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 36 Hours per week (Term Time Only)

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm

Friday 8.15am - 4.00pm

Key Responsibilities:

To support the day to day running of Student Services reception, providing a first point of contact for student enquiries.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To support with general administration where required to support Student Services, i.e., student attendance, uniform and medical room
• To provide an efficient, professional and appropriate front-line service for staff and students adhering to the school's safeguarding procedures
• To undertake a range of administrative tasks, proficiently using the school's software programmes and Microsoft Office, SIMS etc
• To liaise closely with Main Reception regarding arrival and departure of students out of normal expected times, i.e., students arriving late or leaving early for appointments
• To assist Student Services Manager with school vaccinations and general medical administration when necessary
• To undertake First Aid training and any other training applicable to the role as directed by the school
• To ensure all personal data is handled and stored confidentially in line with current GDPR regulations
• To follow schools' policies/guidelines accordingly and comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role for health & safety in the workplace
• To ensure that all duties and responsibilities are in accordance with the School's Equal Opportunities policy
• To have a personable and empathetic manner and be completely confidential at all times
• To review and develop your own professional practice, including taking part in annual performance review
• Any such other reasonable task that the Line Manager/Headteacher may reasonably request
