Tencent Games is creating a new User Research lab in central London, and we are seeking a highly motivated User Researcher to be a vital part of this new venture. This is an exciting opportunity to help contribute to building a games user research function from the ground up, and you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced researchers and contribute significantly to how the user research is conducted.

What You Will Be Doing
- Work with games teams to understand their research needs and translate these into an actionable plan.
- Conduct usability playtests, gameplay playtests, and heuristic reviews on Tencent games and present the findings back to teams in a clear, actionable format.
- Define the criteria for participant selection.
- Support games teams to plan out a user research strategy for the lifecycle of their game.
- Explore new research methods and opportunities in-line with changes in the games industry.
Requirements:
About You
- You are a keen gamer, up to date with a wide variety of genres and platforms.
- You are passionate about games user research and assessing the player experience.
- You are a team player, keen on collaborating with colleagues and contributing to group projects
Qualifications and Experience
- You have experience in designing and running games user research studies across a variety of platforms
- You are familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methods, and have experience running both usability and gameplay playtests.
- You are likely to have a degree in relevant discipline such as experimental/social/cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, or equivalent industry experience. An MSc or PhD is a plus.
