Based in Stevenage, this is a superb opportunity to join an excellent and well-established local employer. The successful candidate will become part of close-knit finance team where development both personally and professionally is encouraged.

The role is offered as a permanent position with a hybrid working model (after probation) with time spent both at the office in Stevenage and at home.

The key element of the role will be to ensure that purchase ledger invoices are processed in line with company targets. You will be expected to build strong working relationships with operational areas of the business to promote cross company working and challenge processes and procedures.

You will have an excellent work ethic and you may also be studying towards or keen to study for the AAT qualification or be a recent graduate.

The company are open to apprenticeship style candidates and you could be a school or college leaver with a strong interest in accountancy.

Key important skills will include strong attention to detail, the ability to resolve issues and being a confident communicator.

Duties will include:

• Purchase Ledger: Posting of purchase ledger invoices, including coding and authorisation.
• Document scanning of all invoices onto the system.
• Sales Ledger: Raise sales invoices on a daily basis, producing and sending EDI files for transmission.
• Receipts: Allocating of receipts on ledger, contra against purchase invoices raised by key customers
• Credit Control: Assist Ledger Supervisor in chasing of debt and reconciling quantities to sales order quantities through matching process.
• Assist with any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Other key elements will include the ability to pick up and learn new systems quickly.

You will also need experience of using excel and other office-based functions.
