We have a great opportunity for a finance professional with client money experience. The purpose of this role is to work effectively within a small team, be responsible that all bank reconciliations are completed in line with our internal processes and FCA guidelines and to ensure regulatory reports are filed in accordance with deadlines set by HMRC and FCA. This role can be based in our Glasgow or Cheltenham office. (hybrid working)
Responsibilities:
- Complete the internal and external client money bank account reconciliations for all accounts in line with FCA Guidelines and internal processes.
- Investigate, resolve, and record problems/queries/anomalies relating to the client money bank account reconciliations and monitor on an ongoing basis and within agreed time frames.
- Complete individual/joint bank account reconciliations in line with FCA Guidelines and internal processes.
- Investigate, resolve, and record problems/queries/anomalies relating to the individual/joint bank account reconciliations and monitor on an ongoing basis and within agreed timeframes.
- Complete the monthly Client Money Asset Return.
- Complete the monthly distribution of interest process.
- Manage the funding process where needed and reconciliation of payments back to Barnett Waddingham.
- Promptly record breaches and ensure they are escalated to team leader in the first instance.
- Complete internal quality audits and provide feedback to the business on an agreed list of processes each year to enable the operations team to improve processing and client care
- Complete the Monthly Capital Adequacy Calculations and issuing reports to SIP Board
- Complete and submit the required regular regulatory reports as agreed from time to time with the Head of SIPP Governance, Risk and Reporting by the required deadline set by either HMRC or FCA
Experience/Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths/English at Grade C/5 or National 5 Maths/English at Grade C or Equivalent
- Experience in Pensions and/or Finance is essential.
- Knowledge and a good understanding of bank reconciliation processes and/or Client Money rules set out by the FCA is essential.
- Knowledge of SIPPs is desirable.
- Experience working with stakeholders or in an administrative capacity is essential.
- Experience working in a dedicated team is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
