The University of Plymouth, a leading University in the South West, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Support Analyst to work as part of the Technology & Information Services (TIS) PC Deployment Team.

Working as a key member of the PC Deployment Team, you will be responsible for assisting with the deployment of IT equipment across the University. This includes preparing PCs for use, configuring them for individual users and deploying them in face-to-face appointments.
You will be responsible for managing returned equipment and troubleshooting any issues that arise. You will also maintain accurate records of your own work and the location and status of university equipment.
You will work closely with other teams within the Technical & Information Services department.
As part of a broader PC refresh strategy, you will also coordinate with other departments across the university to schedule and implement the rollout of new equipment.
While this role is primarily office based, you will be required to work across the main campus at Drake’s Circus also visiting our other University sites from time to time. This includes moving equipment between buildings and using safe manual handling techniques. You will also be required to take deliveries of new equipment, maintain stock-control and anticipate future equipment needs for upcoming work.
You will ideally have:
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• excellent ICT skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
• experience of working with customers on a 1-1 basis
• excellent attention to detail
• excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines
• an ability to innovate and make improvements to processes
• familiarity with Microsoft Windows and related applications (MS Office, Outlook, etc)
• experience of using an ITSM tool
• understanding of the ITIL principles.
This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus a Children’s Barred List and Adults Barred List check.

This is a part-time, permanent position, working 22.2 hours a week. You will be required to cover core hours between 08:30-17:00. Overtime may also be required from time to time.
