Main purpose of job:
To be responsible tothe Community Park Supervisor for the operation of “all front of house” andcustomer service duties including admissions at the Tropical Ravine
To be responsible tothe Community Park Supervisor to ensure a high standard of customer service andcleanliness on the site.
Summary of responsibilities andpersonal duties
1.To deal with visitors entering the relevant site,signposting, providing venue information, conducting tours, receiving fees foradmission and to participate in all Tropical Ravine promotions.
2.To assist and take part in the organisation ofpromotional campaigns, events and activities. To assist in the preparation of display material for exhibitions andeducation projects.
3.To carry out all duties required in the commercialactivities including selling goods, maintaining and checking stock levels tosatisfy customer needs, receiving and checking goods inwards, signing deliverynotes pricing and merchandising as required. To ensure service and stock levels maximise sales and comply withTrading Standard regulations.
4.To maintain cleanliness levels on the site includingglass panels. Removing waste and disposing of packaging and other materials inaccordance with council procedures.
5.To undertake general and specific cleaning duties,individually or as part of a team throughout all parts of the site; forexample, the sweeping, mopping, polishing, litter picking and other relevantduties, of all public and staff areas, and toilets. To operate and use mechanical and electricalcleaning.
6.To undertake general and specific portering duties asdirected, for example, dismantling, maintenance and storage of seating and, orequipment.
7.To be responsible for allocated cash floats and theoperation and cashing up of allocated tills and reconciliation of cash at pointof sale in accordance with council procedures. To perform appropriate end of day procedures.

Experience
Applicantsmust, as at the closing date be able to demonstrate by providingpersonal and specific examples, at least one year’s experience in each ofthe following three areas:
(a)dealing with enquiries from members of the public in person;
(b)cash handling on behalf of others; and
(c)carrying out cleaning duties which must includeexperience of using cleaning equipment.
Short-listingcriteria :
In addition to the above experience, Belfast CityCouncil reserves the right to short-list only those applicants who, as at theclosing date for receipt of application forms, can demonstrate on theapplication form, by providing personal and specific examples:
·in the first instance, at least one year’s experiencein each of the following two areas:
(d)assisting with the organisation of promotionalcampaigns, events and activities; and
(e)portering duties, for example, setting up, dismantlingand maintenance of seats and equipment.
