Job description

LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university

Communications Division

Change Communications Lead

Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance.

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years with possible extension for a further 12 months.

LSE is committed to improving the experience of its diverse internal community. The Change Communications Lead will play a central role in engaging with teams across LSE to help shape, coordinate and enhance communications activity that advances LSE’s 2030 strategy and supports staff and student experiences.

The main duties and responsibilities of the post will focus on internal communications and engagement to support LSE’s 2030 vision through our portfolio of change programmes and projects. LSE is undertaking a huge amount of transformational change across a range of areas. The post holder will provide Communications Leadership and direction in this environment, ensuring communications and engagement activity supports effective project delivery with successful change management and positive user impact.

Working across multi-functional project teams as part of a pool of change communication experts in LSE’s vibrant Communications Division, you will help shape and deliver Change Communications. You will advise on effective planning, coordination, channel management, creative content production and stakeholder engagement across the School, all while embedding insight and audience-led approaches that empower LSE students and staff with two-way communication practices.

This role will involve delivering across more than one change programme at a time in LSE’s broad multi-year portfolio and could cover a variety of initiatives from improving day-to-day experiences at LSE and realising our technology strategy to opening up possibilities around the digital elements of education, and School wide ambitions for future research. Although working as part of project teams, the post holder will also contribute to the wider narrative of change across LSE and help put in place consistent approaches to Change Communications at the institution.

You will have:

  • Experience in leading diverse project groups in communications initiatives to achieve agreed objectives and outcomes.
  • The ability to collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders at all levels to develop effective communications for diverse needs.
  • Proven experience as a creative communicator who considers all opportunities for engagement, with a motivated and enthusiastic approach to communications and the value it adds.
  • A demonstrable record of setting, monitoring and achieving challenging performance targets.
  • Experience of working within and across change projects.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working and excellent training and development opportunities.
