What is the opportunity?
Take a leading role on Rates Trading activity within London Funding & Liquidity, a pillar of the Global Markets Treasury Services business, with the objective of contributing to profitable trading of Sterling and Euro rates. Focus will include active trading of rates exposure generated by Funding & Liquidity business activity as well as tactically and strategically positioning the balance sheet to generate revenue.
What will you do?
- Active management and surveillance of rates positions within the F&L London region
- To provide independent judgement on market direction and achieve profit targets via optimal positioning of F&L London region books
- Provide forecasts of market trends and opinions to stakeholders within F&L and the wider Treasury Services business unit
- Proactively develop and execute revenue enhancement opportunities for the F&L London region, within risk appetite and market risk limits
- Communicate risk positions and market developments to Global Head of F&L and other senior F&L stakeholders as required
- Prudently manage risk within assigned limits
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Provide work supervision to more junior traders, including those outside of your reporting line
- Always represent RBC in an appropriate manner, and work according to RBC values leading by example and driving the business forward
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Previous Rates Trading experience is essential preferably in a STIR market making capacity
- Certified person
