JOB TITLE: Manager, Group Planning & Reporting
SALARY: £61,641 - £68,490
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days a week) in our Edinburgh site.
This is an exciting and challenging role for a high calibre individual, providing the opportunity to gain a unique insight into LBG Group results. This will encompass the delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting for LBG and it’s related sub-groups, playing a key role in external messaging and market guidance. A key focus of the role will be to analyse Group results and to provide insight to senior management on performance against forecast, providing an opportunity to influence Group decision-making.
Central Finance is a Finance Partner for the Group and operates at the heart of the finance community providing analysis, insight, strategic direction and control to a range of senior stakeholders. It is an excellent opportunity for colleagues to challenge and stretch themselves, personally driving and shaping the function, and to ensure that LBG, as an organisation, continues to progress towards its strategic aims.
Within Central Finance, The Group Planning and Reporting team is responsible for producing the Group’s key financial results including the regular management results, the quarterly forecasts, and the annual budget and 4 year operating plan. In addition the team is responsible for providing support to the Group Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer in the presentation of the Group’s results, internally and externally.
The team is key to ensuring high quality outputs and leads the development of the Group’s reporting processes. The timely and accurate provision of this information, together with insightful analysis of business performance, to senior executives, Group Executive Committee and Board, facilitates decision making and control across the Group.

What would you get involved in?
Evaluating and developing a deep understanding of drivers behind divisional and Group results. You'll support us with:
- Insight and analysis of key Group metrics including return on tangible equity, tangible net asset value, below the line reporting and economic value add reporting.
- Development of sub-group legal entity reporting and collaboration with the planning team to improve understanding of legal entity results.
- External results communication including market messaging through Q&A.
- Month-end actuals reporting to the GEC and LBG Board.
- Assist in Finance transformation programmes and the implementation of Oracle Fusion.
- Ad hoc and deep dive analysis on results.
This will involve:
- Preparation of reporting packs and ad hoc analysis to support Senior Group stakeholders including GEC and LBG Board.
- Understanding and effective communication of LBG Results from Divisional, Legal Entity and LBG Group perspective.
- Building trusted relationships across divisional and central teams.
- Use of Planning Analytics tool.
- Supporting the Group’s transformation workstreams, including the implementation of Oracle Fusion ledgers to support Group management reporting.
- Contribute to team development activities including identifying and driving opportunities for process improvement.

What you'll need:
It would be ideal if you were a qualified accountant and had experience in:
- You'll be a qualified accountant or part-qualified accountant with significant experience.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical ability.
- Self-starter attitude and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working at pace.
- Ability to form positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience using Planning Analytics desirable.
- Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint including how to effectively present financial and written information in a persuasive way.
