HAYS accountancy and finance representing a distinguished non-For Profit organisation in the appointment of a Head of Finance. This is a pivotal post in ensuring the growth of service delivery and effective integration. You will take a lead role in the management and delivery of financial services across the organisation. Our client is looking to attract a commercially astute individual whom will identify and implement internal and external opportunities with demonstrated experience in business growth, revenue generation whilst managing cost saving initiatives. Your new role
• Take a lead role in the management and delivery of financial services across the
organisation, working collaboratively with others to identify and implement internal and
external commercial opportunities, including business growth, cost saving initiatives,
revenue generation and internal operational efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain sound financial systems for robust financial planning, control and
reporting, to inform management decision-making, and to measure financial
performance against strategic objectives.
• Ensure that sound financial records are maintained to meet legal and governance
requirements and ensure that the organisation operates within government, corporate
and charitable guidance on probity and regularity.
• Manage and complete statutory reporting to include: review of quarterly VAT returns;
completion and submission of Government surveys and management of the general
ledger to facilitate accurate reporting for statutory purposes.
• Lead and manage the finance team to ensure the timely provision of financial
accounting, management accounting, forecasting, budgeting, payroll and control
functions and systems.
• In collaboration with the Senior Management and Operational Management Team,
identify new sources of funding which will ensure financial stability and growth.
• Advise on, develop and maintain the accounting system (currently Sage 200), including
the effective management of purchases, sales, assets, bank payments and receipts and
nominal ledgers, recording all entries as required.
What you'll get in return
Essential CriteriaAt the closing date applicants must have:
• Full membership of a recognised accountancy body (such as Institute of Chartered
Accountants/Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
• At least 5 years’ post qualification experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in a
management role.
Desirable Criteria
• Use of computerised accounting and payroll systems.
• Strong Excel skills.
