Head of Finance, Belfast - Financial Services | Permanent | Newly Created Role
Reed Finance is partnered with an established but rapidly expanding Financial Services client, in the appointment of an experienced Head of Finance.
The Head of Finance will assume responsibility for discharging a range of high level, strategic and financial objectives aligned with the effective operation of the organisation and its broader growth strategy. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the post holder will demonstrate an exceptional level of commercial awareness, an empowering leadership style with diligent management. The successful candidate will be well positioned to make strategic investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility and accountability for the Finance function to include:
- Treasury management including reconciliation of all bank accounts and investments.
- Ensuring adequate processes and controls in place
- Responsible for the complete financial function in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Finance Team across the organisation
- Preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Managing the fixed asset register.
- Rigorously managing bad debt process and flow to ensure minimum return of potential write-offs.
- Be a higher member Higher Lending Committee.
- Regularly review update and refine all lending policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure all lending (secured and unsecured) is within documented risk appetite.
- Be active members of risk committee.
- Ensure all adherence to with all regulatory and legislative compliance.
- Preparation and provision of all internal and external reports to stakeholders.
- Accountability for all Business Planning, Forecasting, Financial Modelling;
- Providing support and assistance to the CEO through close working and daily reporting;
- The Financial Director will be responsible and accountable to the regulators, the board of directors and the CEO for the entire finance function in the organisation.
- Accountable for the bad debt provision in accordance with the regulation of the PRA and FCA (FRS102)
- Carry out Analysis on the Bad Debt provisioning in line with the recommendations of the regulators to ensure compliance.
- Attend all meeting of the investment, Risk & finance committees.
- Oversee the investment portfolio reporting directly to the Investment Committee, the CEO and board of directors.
Essential criteria:
- A minimum of five years’ full-time experience at Management or Director level, within the last eight-year period, in management of the finance function within an established organisation.
- A proven track record of having effectively managed a team of at least three people
- Have contributed to the development of a Financial Strategy with input to a Broader Strategic Plan
- Experience in the development of a series of robust processes, procedures and policies regarding the safeguarding and management of the finance function
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) with a minimum of five years post qualification experience
Desirable: Experience within the financial services or banking related environments
