My client, a magic circle law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Qualified Lawyer to join them in London on a permanent basis - working as their new In-House Conflicts Lawyer.
Operating in over thirty countries, this magic circle law firm works on some of the most challenging and important deals/disputes you can think of. Working within their Business Acceptance Unit, the team is responsible for assessing all new business before it's accepted by Partners, to ensure the firms commercial objectives and legal obligations are met.
The purpose of the successful In-House Lawyer is to be a trusted advisor to the business, providing high quality and pro-active business support and solutions. As the successful In-House Lawyer, you'll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Analysing and resolving professional legal, regulatory and commercial issues relating to business acceptance.
- Working with specialist teams such as Financial Crime and Sanctions.
- Drafting waivers and consent language required in resolution of conflict of interest issues.
- Reviewing and analysing conflict of interest issues with respect to incoming lateral hires.
- Mentoring, supervising and assisting in the management and development of the BAU Analysts and Administrators.
- Referring commercial issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Exercising judgement as to when to refer business acceptance issues to the Global Head of Financial Crime and other senior BAU members.

To qualify for this position as their new In-House Conflicts Lawyer, you'll need to have/be the following:
- Must be a Qualified Lawyer with significant PQE.
- Must have excellent experience in relation to conflicts from a law firm environment.
- Must have strong international experience with a leading top tier law firm.
- Must have excellent task management skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
