We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a First Line Support Apprentice. If you are a passionate individual with a drive to learn and grow within a Junior Support Role then this may be the role for you!
You'll work closely with a friendly and experienced team of fun but focused, like-minded engineers with a wealth of knowledge in IT Support. This is an opportunity to grow your skills across cloud, security, networking and automation with exposure to new tools, techniques and technologies every day. You'll be a key member of our team at the forefront of our technical support lines.

Main role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:
- Provide 1st line support to customer queries via phone, email and face-to-face.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve issues where possible.
- Provide prompt, courteous and timely updates to customers (internal & external) via phone and email in accordance with your departments expectations.
- Provide platform support for hardware based at both our data centres and remotely at client locations.
- Work with other areas of the business to support client needs.
- Investigate new ways of working and suggest ideas for growing the company and improving customer service.
- Build and configure, make ready Laptops or PC’s ready for customer or internal use.

Personal Qualities:
- A technical understanding of computers and the underlying IT principals
- A clear and legitimate passion for technology
- Demonstrates a clear determination to learn and grow in role
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Manages time effectively, meeting deadlines and remaining calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work in an fast-moving environment, either on-site or remotely, as needed
Desired but Not Required:
- A good understanding of networking and computer hardware
- Hands on experience with building PCs would be advantageous
- Any experience with Avaya or/Genesys telephony systems
- Experienced with all Windows Operating Systems (7, 8, 10, 11, Server)
Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Terms of employment:
- Working week: Daily working hours: 8:30am – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. 40 hours a week.
- Location: The expectation is for the engineer to initially be based between the office and the client site 5 days a week. However, this will fall to 3 days a week as the apprentice successfully progresses through their course.
