About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active Receptionist to join the team based in Rowhedge and University of Essex Medical Practice. The role is for 12 hours a week.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) booking appointments, greeting patients, answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff, updating patient records, processing correspondence and liaising with patients using various types of communication methods.
The role requires excellent communication skills, a good understanding of IT and ideally, experience of a busy reception/public environment. You will also need to have flexibility to cover other shifts. Experience of working in general practice will be an advantage but training will be given to a suitable candidate.
About the Candidate
You will have a good standard of education including Maths and English and have experience of working and providing customer services. Ideally you will have reception experience and it would be beneficial if you have experience working within primary care, however this is not essential. You will need to have strong IT skills and be able to use computer based systems. Experience of EMIS would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate.
You will have excellent communication skills both written and orally, and have good social skills. You will have a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors either in person or over the telephone.
