Required to join a small lab-based team working in a modern and purpose-built laboratory facility based in the Corby area.
The company supply specialist equipment as well as service, replacement, repair and technical support to the medical sector within the UK.
The successful applicant will join a lab-based team providing a vital service to support the medical industry.
The role of Technician involves inspection and intricate repair work of highly complex electronic devices as well as booking in and despatch of components and provides a vital service to support NHS trusts and private clinics. Full training will be provided.
Duties will include:
· Inspection and repair of components using complex laboratory equipment ie: microscopes; vacuum chambers, soldering equipment etc
· Book in / receipt and despatch of customers’ orders
• Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice, support and regular updates to customers regarding on-going repairs and enhance the customer experience
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the laboratory environment

• Fine hand skills and dexterity are essential
• Good eye for technical detail - tests require exact measurements for analysing and recording results
• Ability to work consistently and maintain a high level of concentration
• Ability to use laboratory equipment for long periods of time whilst tests are run
• Good organisation skills and team player attitude
• Excellent written, oral communication and listening skills
• Experience of electronics, soldering or repair work on small components an advantage
Full training will be provided but an electronic / technical aptitude or previous experience of working in a laboratory / using microscopes and basic hand tools would be useful.
