Job Description
The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist is accountable for establishing, evolving and overseeing the delivery of the overall training strategy for their specific Line of Service (LoS). They will work as part of a LoS specific Business Partnering Team within Business Solutions and will report to the LoS People Director.
Key accountabilities:
- Work with the People Director and the wider Line of Service business partnering team, identifying where, and how L&D can play an instrumental part in achieving business goals and/or overcoming challenges.
- Engage with key stakeholders across the Lines of Service to obtain an understanding of the training and learning needs.
- Work with the other L&D Specialists, People Solutions and with the L&D Centre of Excellence, to identify common needs in order to maximise opportunities for collaborative efforts.
- Shape the people strategy and annual plan from an L&D perspective for the Lines of Service, leveraging firmwide development strategies and investments, determining the need and parameters of any specific L&D interventions.
- Use people strategy governance to prioritise the overall L&D portfolio, including new requests, against the cash budget, reviewing wider L&D resource capacity to support, and agreeing LoS participant time out of the business;
- Work closely with the L&D Centre of Excellence and People Solutions, identifying and managing risks, to ensure that all planned activity is implemented and that intended outcomes are achieved, meeting business needs and budget requirements.
- Collaborate with the wider Line of Service Business Partnering Team to optimise the implementation of any training solutions.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the L&D interventions in the Lines of Service.
- Analyse strategic, operational and evaluation data at a curriculum and programme level. Discussing analysis with key stakeholders and appropriate parties within L&D Centre of Excellence and People Solutions to produce recommendations,and oversee any resulting activity.
- Support the L&D Centre of Excellence and People Solutions with the necessary input from the business for successful L&D delivery.
- Work with the L&D Centre of Excellence and People Solutions to drive a consistent holistic communications approach.
Essential skills and experience:
- Experience in L&D / training and a suitable knowledge and interest in tools and technology advancements to enhance learning outcomes.
- Proven ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, particularly at the Partner level.
- Ability to lead, inspire, develop and champion others to provide a distinctive and sustainable L&D service to the firm.
- Communicate confidently and effectively, and work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Commercially orientated - keeps commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions.
- Plan strategically and translate vision and strategy into clear, actionable objectives and deliverables.
- Assimilate complex data and information objectively to inform recommendations.
- Effective budget / financial / resource management linked to firm's business priorities.
- A strong interest in the Consulting LoS.
