In this role you will work to ensure expeditious movement of traffic across Oxfordshire through appropriate real-time management of the Council’s responses to planned and unplanned events, within a framework of statutory legislation - notably the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the County Council’s Permit Scheme. This role will involve shift-based supervision of Traffic Control Officers work and activities.
You will take a lead role in creating and implementing traffic signal and information strategies designed to alleviate congestion on the transport network. You will also contribute to, and lead on, innovation projects which promote the use of active travel and public transport – for example bus priority schemes, social media campaigns and improved software solutions.
About you
You will managing a small team of staff who monitor the network, identify delays, and find solutions as well as managing improvement projects.
