Summary and purpose of position:

Duties and responsibilities:
- To assist maintainenance and monitoring of the terms and conditions of the HMRC Excise and/or Customs Warehouse approval for the site
- To assist in ensuring the integrity of the stock and duty processes for Tax and Duty purposes.
- To support the Bond Manager in implementing compliance procedures and in protecting Wincanton’s HMRC compliance profile.
- Submission of timely and accurate duty returns to HMRC in Bond Manager's absence
- .Assist resolution of exceptions and errors in the approved manner as directed
- . Develop a sound functional awareness of the HMRC legislation applicable to the role
- Engage in and support the Bond Management peer network. • Provide general administration support as required to aid the efficient running of operations.
- To update the systems with relevant data
- To liaise internal customers on all issues relating to the operation.
- Maintain WMS database and schedules with no effect to the service levels and stock integrity.
- Escalate to the Warehouse Management Team any issues that are likely to affect the performance of the department, site or relationship with the customer
- . To comply with Quality, Health and Safety procedures and to ensure a safe working environment for self and others
- . Any other duties considered necessary to fulfil the role.
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices.
Experience, skills and attributes
- : Effective communication skills at all levels of internal and external customers
- . Must be IT literate – Microsoft packages including Excel to an intermediate level
- . Motivated to be able to work under pressure and the ability to meet critical timeliness targets
- . Highly flexible, committed and willing to carry out varied tasks positively
- . Possess accuracy skills and ability to carry out tasks with attention to detail ensuring work is error free first time.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarisation with Manhattan WMS is essential
- . Ability to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility governed by the position
- . Experience of operational process and controls
- . Experience and Knowledge in HMRC legislation – Desirable.
- Previous experience in complaisance – Desirable. • Stock management – Desirable
- . Other excise or customs experience, or other regulatory compliance- Desirable
- . Solid numeracy. • Experience standard operating procedures (SOP) – Desirable
- . Experience in Warehouse Management systems (WMS/DMS/Manhattan/Langdons)
