A Data Centre Services Team Leader is required to join a rapidly growing business with over 30 years of experience on a mission to create the most progressive, reliable infrastructure possible. They are a leading independent technology partner and global integrator and an 800+ person global team of technical experts, specializing in providing end-to-end connectivity solutions that propel organisations everywhere. Providing structured cabling to networking, devices, insights, and managed services. Handling design, deployment, and optimisation, offering a complete connectivity package, with suppliers covering everything from foundations to innovations ensuring their clients are prepared for success.
The Role
As a Data Centre Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing and providing support to client's Data Centre's cabling infrastructure, servers, network hardware and physical security controls. You will deliver on Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) work and business-as-usual works at a client's Data Centre. You will focus on the coordination and management of four engineers.
Some of what you will be doing:
- Managing a team of 4 DC engineers
- Connectivity testing for all installations, end-device patching
- Building equipment racks, copper & fibre patching, SFP module installations and complete hardware installations for new server deployments, ensuring adherence to documented procedures
- Transferring ownership of change records for new installs and server move activities
- Supporting and building processes, covering shipping and receiving, identification of incompatibility, and implementing work-around solutions
- Assisting in routine charges using IDRAC/MGMT port, including IP configurations, gateways, ports etc., and facilitating server relocations within and across the Data Centre's
- Replacing small, racked network devices as needed
- Coordinating and overseeing asset disposal processes as outlined in the documentation
- Respond and raise tickets promptly to break/fix incidents
- Participating in the maintenance and monitoring of Data Centre systems, including incidents/events, problems, changes, and daily health checks
Ideally, your skills and experience will include:
- Data Centre Moves, Adds, Change (MAC), IT Hardware Deployment
- Structured cabling installation, fault finding and testing - Fluke test equipment
- Structured cabling standards and cable types (FTP, UPT, & Optical Fibre)
- Training and mentoring new starters
- CDCTP (desired)
