We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our client based in Oban. The successful candidate will provide high-quality financial management information and professional finance advice to senior managers and budget holders. This role involves managing the production of monthly financial statements and contributing to corporate reporting, ensuring the organisation’s financial position is clear and decision-making is supported. This role represents an excellent opportunity for someone based locally to Oban, or relocation packages can be made available to suitable applicants who wish to relocate to the area. The role offers hybrid working, allowing for someone who is relatively close-by but not local, to work mostly from home with only a couple of days per week in the office.
Day to Day of the Role:- Manage month-end financial processes and identify efficiencies, implementing change as required.
- Assist and review the production of monthly management accounts, providing statistical analysis, variance reporting, and commentary.
- Manage the Balance Sheet Reconciliation review process and report any corrective action taken.
- Provide effective commercial procedures to ensure key operational, commercial, and financial targets are achieved.
- Manage the finance operations team to ensure accurate and controlled financial transactions.
- Coordinate budget re-forecasting and manage departmental cost reports versus budget.
- Design and maintain financial reports for budget holders, highlighting areas of concern and conducting transactional investigations.
- Support and advise the Education Business Partner and contribute to continuous improvements within the department.
- Recognised accountancy qualification or nearing the end of qualification completion with extensive work experience (desirable).
- Considerable experience in a senior finance role.
- Experience in management accountancy and implementing new practices and procedures.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage own workload and that of team members.
- Evidence of successful staff line/supervisory management.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power BI, and financial accounting packages.
- Ability to provide sound financial judgement and maintain a CPD record.
- Extensive working knowledge in the area of finance, particularly Management Accounts.
