White Laith is a vibrant, energetic, successful and happy school and the quality and positive attitude of all members of the team is integral to our success.
During our OFSTED inspection, May 2022, the inspector said, “This is a stunning school.”
We are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Assistant to join our team. The post is temporary although there may be the opportunity to extend this post the following year. (This is subject to future funding.) The position is for 10 hours per week, initially 11.20am – 1.20pm and includes 20 minutes cleaning duties.
Joining our existing team, you’ll be responsible for the active supervision of the children in the dining area, playground and the school premises. Initially, this will be the children in Early Years (Nursery and Reception) but the postholder will be required to be flexible and able support children in other classes in response to any changes to the overall timetabling of the lunchtime support team.
We are looking for someone who can establish good relationships with children and respond appropriately to individual needs, someone who is able to communicate effectively with children and staff and is able to encourage pupils to act independently.
The role includes supporting children when they are eating in the hall – getting to know their likes and dislikes, encouraging children to try new foods and modelling good table manners and good social communication skills.
Supervision outside includes ensuring the play area is safe, playing with children, encouraging and modelling playtime games and activities and supporting positive play and good relationships.
We have a very talented and hardworking team and we are looking to appoint someone who will bring additional expertise to our team.
Application forms and supporting documents can be requested from school, and to arrange a visit, please contact the School Business Manager via john.barker@whitelaith.leeds.sch.uk or telephone 0113 2930280
