Bookkeeper

• Position: Bookkeeper
• Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
• Salary - circa £25k
• Hybrid working: 2 days per week working from home (minimum) if requested
• Permanent, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours a week
• Flexible working hours: Core hours of 10am-4:30pm but flexibility for you to request to start or finish from 8am to 6:30pm
• Free on-site car parking
• 24 days holiday + bank holidays

Macildowie are pleased to be partnered with an exciting client in the Stratford-upon-Avon area that recently underwent some extremely positive changes and are recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their Accounts team. The reason for this vacancy is due to an internal promotion from a Bookkeeper to an Accountant... so if you are interested in this type of progression, this is a great career route for you to take!

Key responsibilities:

• General Bookkeeping for a variety of clients, mainly on Sage Accounts, Xero and Quickbooks
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns, and reviewing VAT returns prepared by clients
• Dealing with HMRC queries
• Preparation of management accounts
• Occasionally training clients on using accounting software

Skills and experience required:

• A good understanding of Sage is preferred, alternatively Quickbooks or Xero is advantageous
• 12 months previous bookkeeping experience is essential, accountancy practice experience is advantageous
• An ability to manage your own portfolio with accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
• You may be required to work on-site for clients for some of the time (but no more than 1 day per week)
• UK driving license and access to a car is essential
