Duty Manager – The o2
Position Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Duty Manager to be responsible for ensuring that consistently high standards of security, cleanliness, safety and customer care are delivered at all times to staff, assets and visitors on site through the total management during their shift. The responsibilities will include team development, compliance with site procedures and proactive support to the client and their Brand Partners.
This is a fully flexible role of five, eight-hour days over the seven-day week.
Rate of pay: £14.85
Responsibilities
- Working in conjunction with the Facilities and Technical Managers, to ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional service standards to internal/external customers.
- Motivate and inspire all team members by demonstrating a positive attitude and ensuring the fair treatment of the team at all times.
- Proactively resolve any barriers to effective site operation with innovative customer led solutions and ensuring that all stakeholders are communicated with at all times.
- Undertake efficient duty rostering of the team; allocate regular and overtime duties to prescribed procedures, liaising with the Facilities Manager as required. Monitor attendance and time-keeping records and take any required remedial action where necessary. Investigate and report to senior line management on disciplinary and grievance matters whilst providing leadership and support to sustain good team morale.
- Conduct regular site patrols communicating issues to the FM and resolving problems when possible.
- Perform at the start/end of each tour of duty, in conjunction with fellow Shift Managers, verification checks of all the Control Room equipment ensuring that all systems are fully operational and where they are not, initiate corrective action.
- Where necessary, and in conjunction with senior line management, re-deploy security team members to act as substitute cover throughout the day.
- To ensure that at all times cleaning and security team members are deployed effectively;
- To continuously demand the highest standards of service delivery from all cleaning, customer services and security members by providing full briefings and guidance to them.
- To maintain an effective duty of care to all team members ensuring that all required procedures/policies relevant to: Health & Safety at Work legislation: Staff Welfare & Development Training: Disciplinary & Grievance: Discriminatory & Harassment: Alcohol & Drug Misuse: Equal Opportunities are correctly explained and followed, thus serving the best interests of the employee, Facilities and the Client team.
- Be committed to Health & Safety and ensure that you are familiar with all Facilities/client Health & Safety policies and procedures. Police and encourage observance with all site security & safety policies, in particular ensuring that the access control, key control, smoking and Health & Safety policies are observed and enforced.
- Regularly logging incidents and accidents through both Sevron/AVA and Risk Wise systems. When access is not possible, resolve all issues independently until the obstacle is overcome.
- Ensure that all team members are correctly dressed at all times; that tasks are correctly allocated, performed.
- Assist with all ad hoc duties that are required to the benefit of the client and Brand Partners as requested.
- Attend meetings as required and provide reports and recommendations on the activities of the security operation.

- Experience of managing contractors
- Experience of evacuation and safety is essential
