HGV Technician
15 - 18/hr + Training + Progression + Benefits

Are you a qualified HGV Technician? Do you have experience in HGV maintenance & repairs? Or maybe you are a time served mechanic looking for a new role?
Working in a modern workshop, you'll be joining a logistics business carrying out MOT preparations, diagnostic work and fault finding, repairs and maintenance and recording essential maintenance paperwork ensuring all vehicles are safe and road worthy- all on own fleet equipment.
This is a Monday to Friday role, 40hrs/ week with optional overtime available- if you want to increase your earnings.
With career advancement opportunities available, this role would suit someone who is recently qualified looking for a permanent role or an experienced technician who is looking for career advancement into supervisory or management positions.
The Role
- Conduct routine inspections and road worthiness tests.
- Part and machinery repair costing
- Vehicle diagnostic reports on wear and tear.
- Carrying out Pre-MOT inspections
- Monitoring the general wear and tear of vehicles
- Carrying out general repairs
- Liaise with management to determine specification of work to be undertaken
- Adhering to all relevant Health and safety legislation.
- To complete all documentation including worksheets, certificates, receipts applying signatures as appropriate and in accordance with company policy and procedures.
The ideal person will
- Be timeserved OR
- Qualified to City & Guilds level 3, BTEC or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
- Have Diagnostic experience.
- Have Computer systems experience
- Have a full, valid driving license.
- Have a HGV license preferable not essential
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
