Purpose of the Job:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team and drive our people-centred initiatives while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This is a standalone role, however there will be administrative support when required.
As the HR Business Partner at PET-Xi, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organisation's talent strategy, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities:- Employee Development:
- Identify training and development needs within the organisation.
- Create and implement employee development plans and initiatives.
- Develop and promote training for managers to improve management skills and support progression pathways.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Providing leadership and guidance on issues relating to the equality and diversity agenda and champion the PET-Xi commitment to equality and diversity.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance appraisal process, providing guidance to managers and employees.
- Develop and manage an effective performance management strategy with supporting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that managers and teams have the appropriate skills and capabilities to undertake their responsibilities effectively.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Taking a lead role in the preparation of documentation for formal disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Oversee the disciplinary and exit process where required in conclusion of disciplinary matters.
- Undertake absence monitoring, providing guidance to line managers on managing attendance where necessary.
- Policy Development and Compliance:
- Review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Maintain and communicate organisational policies.
- Ensure adherence to compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring all HR policies and procedures are within Ofsted framework.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilise HR analytics to assess workforce trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare regular HR reports for ELT & Governors.
- Employee Engagement:
- Develop and execute employee engagement / staff wellbeing initiatives and surveys and follow up with actions.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and employee well-being.
- Providing dynamic and effective leadership and day-to-day management of the department and operational activities including the effective, efficient and economic deployment of physical, financial and human resources.
Compliance Focus:
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring the organisation's HR practices remain compliant.
- Conduct compliance audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and external consultants to address compliance-related matters.
- Ensure compliance across the company.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the function and responsibility for the post.
Person Specification:- At least 3 years' experience working in a HR role. Education sector experience would be desirable especially experience of working within an Ofsted framework.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR programs that drive organisational goals while maintaining compliance.
- HR certification (e.g., CIPD) is a plus.
- Practical experience of current employment legislation and best practice.
- Experience of working in a dynamic and changing workplace environment.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, diplomacy and resilience when required.
