HR Advisory/Managment support
1. Provide professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on the implementation of HR policies, ensuring advice is in line with employment law and other regulations.
2. Meet regularly with managers to advise on all aspects of people management and staffing issues. Contribute to the development of line managers’ people management skills through coaching and support.
3. Contribute to the College’s EDI approach by being a part of the EDI steering group and working with the EDI Manager on implementing initiatives and dealing with issues and concerns.
4. Support with the research, development and implementation of HR initiatives leading to innovative good practice and increased employee engagement
5. Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures in line with employment law, best practice and the College’s strategic intentions.
Employee Relations
6. Lead on employee relations cases, supporting and advising on all aspects of investigations and hearings in an effective and timely manner.
7. Obtain legal advice when required and liaise with other departments and external organisations as needed in line with safeguarding/regulatory requirements.
8. Oversee the work of other HR staff who are undertaking or supporting with employee relations casework.
9.Support with Employment Tribunals and Early Conciliation.
10. Support with organisational change processes i.e. consultation meetings and producing letters.
Health and Wellbeing
11. Working with the Health and Wellbeing group and through external research and awareness, take a lead on health and wellbeing, helping to shape and develop the College’s strategy and approach.
12. Lead on attendance management and policy development, training and coaching managers and advising staff as required, proactively monitoring absence data and trends.
13. Work with the Occupational Health Advisor on all aspects of employee health in line with the Attendance Management Policy.
14.Lead on the implementation of health and wellbeing initiatives by coaching managers, organising events/training and producing staff communications via the Hub.
15. Support with the development, implementation and communication of staff health and wellbeing benefits,
HR System/Data
16. Ensure the HR System is fully utilised with accurate data and contribute to system good practice and development.
17. Analyse HR data, monitoring trends and reporting as required.
Wider team support and personal development
18. Respond to queries from staff and managers, forwarding on to other team members as appropriate.
19. Ensure continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge to ensure the College is at the forefront of HR initiatives and good practice through attendance at events, webinars, training, networking and wider reading etc.
20. Proactively share knowledge, learning and insights with other members of the HR team.
21. Contribute to the continuous process improvement of HR activities and services.
22. Attend and participate in HR team meetings.
23. Support wider college events and curriculum teams as required I.e. interview skills training with students.
24.Any other duties of a similar level of responsibility as required.
