Service Leader - Children in Care
A Service Leader post has become available in Royal Greenwich Children's Children in Care and Care Leavers Service. This senior position is a vital one where you will have responsibility for the social work leadership of three Children in Care Teams and the Unaccompanied Asylum-seeking Children's Team and involves direct line-management of the respective Team Leaders. The Teams manage court proceedings as well as supporting children and young people who are in both short and long-term placements. In addition, the role includes line management of the Family Contact Centre and monitoring of service-related commissioning arrangements.

The ideal candidate should also demonstrate the ability to manage resources including staffing, financial, information and IT; whilst also making professional decisions about individual cases that have significant implications for the care and permanency arrangements for children.
You will hold various lead roles and, in a position, to influence best practice initiatives and innovative ways of improving the health, welfare and development outcomes for Children in Royal Greenwich.
You will also be required to work across the wider service, including providing cover and supporting services throughout Children's Services Directorate.
